About

Tatiana Chudinova (Tanya Gilks)

I was born and lived in Russia's third largest city of Kazan for 56 years, located on the banks of the river Volga. Here I studied and received a diploma in Architecture, followed by a PhD in the same discipline, from Moscow, Russian Federation

Having gained considerable experience in Higher Education Sector, rising to Associate Professor in Architectural Composition, I also lectured in Art History alongside the history of Russian Architecture.

My love of this subject has taken me to many countries, writing and encouraging students to look closely at their surroundings.

My marriage to a British Citizen in 2014 and relocation to the Pocklington area has given me more time to enjoy the local architecture through my passion for pen and ink drawings and paintings. I gained British Citizenship in 2021

I am an accomplished artist working with either watercolours, gouache or pen and ink.

I can also produce works to order from photographs provided.
